Mahama Ayariga's ingrained lying credentials got propelled to new heights when he attempted to slight the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over a project that he claims should have been credited to the Mahama administration.
His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo took the wraps off the much anticipated Digital Address System in Accra, and its reception has been phenomenally awesome.
However, the positive reviews from the general public seems to have incensed some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress.
While speaking to it on Accra FM yesterday, Mahama Ayariga was asked about his views as regards the beautiful edifice showcased the day before, with its accompanying speech from the number gentleman of the land, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
"Either the President is a bad liar or the Vice President is an unintelligent liar"
This heralded Mahama Ayariga's take on the launched Digital Address System.
Thinking Ghanaians are that fleeceable to swallow his weird analogy hook, line and sinker, Mahama Ayariga went about the fact that Zoomlion had developed a similar software when the NDC was in power, and that government should have fallen on Jospong Group of Companies for the technology. He went on to say that that's the more reason he insists the Digital Address System was started by the Mahama administration.
"The facility (Digital Address System) existed through the initiative of Zoomlion. Zoomlion developed the programmes two years ago to help them in their waste collection. If they [government] contracted a new firm to develop a new system, then that is problematic. Government [NDC] did not pay a penny to Zoomlion. We supported the initiative with human resource (national service personnel and other technocrats). So why wasting $2.5 million on a programme zoomlion had begun and was almost at the completion point" Hon. Mahama Ayariga said.
It is dumbfounding how Ayariga would label President Akufo-Addo and Bawumia a bad liar and an unintelligent liar respectively when he himself has been variously described as a liar extraordinaire. In case time has affected his ability to recollect what he did a few months ago, then it is important he is reminded.
Was it not this same Ayariga who is accusing others of being liars the one who lied against the Energy Minister, Mr. Boakye Agyarko and his own minority chief whip, Muntaka Mubarak that the former had given the latter some amounts of money with which to bribe members of the Appointment Committee, an allegation that he couldn’t substantiate and had to shamefully render an unqualified apology for?
The issue about Zoomlion pioneering the software is comedic, at best, because Ayariga’s own assertion doesn’t support the claim that the Digital Address System was started by the Mahama-led government. Where, therefore, are the lies supposedly peddled by the President and his Vice?
Mahama Ayariga would do himself a great world of good if he keeps his opinions on matters of national importance to himself instead of expressing them to make himself a laughing stock in the eyes of the general public.
