The former Minister of Trade under the Mahama administration has given meat to the corruption tag of former President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen talk show, the National Democratic Congress' presidential aspirant could not help but agree with Ghanaians who hold the view that Mahama was corrupt, and that it fuelled the corruption perception of the then administration.
In what can be described as an explosive revelation, Dr Spio-Garbrah said that quite a number of people were beneficiaries of luxurious vehicles and expensive mansions.
The NDC presidential hopeful said this on the show;
"Mahama gave Afia Schwarzenegger a house".
This juicy tidbit is a flash in the pan as many more people were also given flashy cars and mansions by the former president.
Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie was a beneficiary of about six cars from the Mahama presidency. Kwabena Marfo, another dye in the wool sympathizer of the NDC who co-anchors Okay FM's Adeakye Abia programme with Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie was built a house apart from the four cars he was given by Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama.
Madam Akua Donkor openly confirmed that former President Mahama had given her two V-8 vehicles as well as a mansion at the expense of the taxpayer.
All these, according to Dr Ekow Spio-Garbrah, feed into the perception that Mahama is corruption personified. He is asking party delegates to vote for him instead of Mahama whose image has been tainted by corruption.
